Last year, by July 10, the water stock had touched 564 thousand million litres or 39 per cent of the required stock

Rains lashed the city on Wednesday and total stock in the supplier lakes rose to 467 thousand million litres or 32.3 per cent of the required level.


Last year, by July 10, the water stock had touched 564 thousand million litres or 39 per cent of the required stock. Nearly 1400 thousand million litres of water is required by October 1 so that there is no water cut in the city throughout the year. The city is under a 10 per cent water cut as of now.


It happened for the first time that the Colaba observatory of the IMD crosses the above normal mark for the season, coming up to 823.3 mm which is 0.6 mm above normal.


The rainfall from June 1 to Wednesday, July 10 came up to 1331.1 mm or 529.4 mm above normal.
