It was a shock for the family and the railway employees when they heard the news of their colleague Mohammad Asif Sheikh (35) dying on tracks while doing his duty.

After getting a call for the pantograph damage of one of the train at Ray road. The incident took place between Ray road and Dockyard road when Sheikh had leaned out from the motor coach. He was banged with pole and fallen down on tracks. He lost one of his leg as he came down the train.


According to the eyewitnesses, he was on tracks for nearly half an hour and then he was taken to Byculla hospital. “He was declared dead before reaching the hospital due to heavy loss of blood,” said spokesperson of Central Railway.
