Even after five days of interrogation of the arrested accused Amit Hazara in the Arpita Tiwari murder case, the police have failed to ascertain the reason of the murder. Since the remand period got over on Friday, Hazara was produced before the court where police officials demanded more days for interrogation. The court refused and instead sent the accused to 14 days judicial custody, up to February 3.
Both the prime suspects in the case underwent through a lie-detector test. Since Hazara's statement to the Malwani police was different from the test, he was arrested on the basis of circumstantial evidence. Tiwari's boyfriend Pankaj Jadhav and a few others have not given them a clean chit by officials. Anchor Arpita Tiwary, 24, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Manavsthal Society in Malad on November 11. Mid-day had reported on the cops' suspicions on Hazara on account of a Facebook chat between him and Tiwari four days before she died.
