The snake was rescued and released into SGNP

An eight-ft-long python caused a flutter at civic-run Bhagwati Hospital in Borivli this morning. Passers-by spotted the snake at the hospital's gate, slithering in around 10.30 am, and raised an alarm. The hospital staff immediately summoned a local snake catcher, Ashok Kale.

Shekhar Chavan, an officer from the disaster management cell of the BMC, said "The python was very aggressive and heavy. It was difficult to catch it." He said the snake could have caused a bigger panic had it entered the hospital. Forest department officials were informed of the rescue and the python was released in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivli.
