The 33-year-old was accused of molesting the 28-year-old, whose son was undergoing treatment at the hospital; the incident allegedly took place right next to an operation theatre
A 28-year-old woman was allegedly molested in the civic-run KEM Hospital by a ward boy, early Saturday morning. The incident took place when the woman was called into a small room by the accused, 33-year-old Dhiraj Tambe, at around 1 am.

The woman’s 12-year-old son has been admitted in the paediatrics ward of the hospital since July 19 to undergo treatment for chronic stomach ache, said a police inspector from Bhoiwada police station, where a case has been registered.
The woman, who hails from Raigad, said in her police statement that she was called to a small office, next to an operation theatre, to collect her son’s medical reports.
“When Tambe handed over a few papers to her, he held her hand. He tried to close the door but she managed to flee and raise an alarm,” said a security guard from the hospital, who requested anonymity.
Tambe is now under police custody and has been booked under Section 354 (b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Despite several attempts, Dr Shubhangi Parkar, dean of KEM hospital, remained unavailable for comment.
