Meow Meow drug
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday night seized around 25 kg of Mephedrone (MD) costing a whopping Rs 5 crore. This is the first time the party drug has been seized in such a huge quantity.
Recently the Central Government had declared Mephedrone, popularly known as Meow Meow, as a Psychotropic substance under the Narcotic Drugs and Psych-otropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985.

The NCB officers also arrested Ankit Kapoor and Rakesh Kapoor, both residents of Bhakti Park, Wadala, Parag Mehta who stays in Happy Homes, Dahisar, Jogabhai from Dhanera, Gujarat and Nanji Ram Devasi from Jalore, Rajashtan.
All of them were picked up from Andheri East. The officials said the five had brought the drug from Gujarat and were part of an international racket. They had plans to export the drug as well as supply it to people in other cities.
Kumar Sanjay Jha, Zonal Director, Mumbai and Goa region of NCB confirmed the seizure but refused to divulge further details. “I cannot talk on it right now as the operation is still on,” he said. NCB officials are now investigating where did the accused get the drug from and how did they operate.
