Police have arrested three minors for circulating objectionable photographs of a 16-year-old girl in Pydhonie. According to officials, the girl had gone to a party in March 2013, with her friends and then boyfriend, where some of her male friends had taken photographs of her with her boyfriend.

In July, after she ended the relationship with her boyfriend, he allegedly uploaded the photos on a WhatsApp group to his friends. One of his friends on the group decided to use the photo to blackmail her. The accused contacted the girl and demanded R1 lakh, threatening he would post these photos on a social networking website if she did not pay him the money.
Terrified, the 16-year-old told her mother and sister, but before they could inform her father, who was in Malaysia for work, she ran away from home on August 11 evening. An officer from Pydhonie police station said, “After hearing that she had ran away, her father returned to India and they lodged a missing persons report.
However, the girl decided to come back home the next day. She told her father about the incident and also revealed that the night she ran away, she was also molested by a man, who took her to his house on the pretext of providing her shelter.” After hearing her story, the father registered a complaint with the Pydhonie police and they arrested three minors, including her ex boyfriend, in the case.
The accused, who allegedly molested the girl, identified as Abdul Salaam Abdul Kudus Ansari (36) has also been caught by the police, who was booked under section 376 and 511 under Indian Penal Code. The three minors, were booked under various sections of Information Technology Act.
