A 24-year-old man, who pretended to be hearing impaired in order to rob people, has been arrested by the Borivli police.

The accused, Ganesh Govinda Vadar, a resident of Virar, approached people on the pretext of seeking financial help by showing a Kerala-based charitable organisation’s letter, which stated that he was hearing impaired and needed money for his siblings who had to undergo an operation.

Police sub-inspector Yuvraj Inamdar said, “Last month, Vadar entered a society at Shimpoli and sought donation from residents.

When he reached the first floor, he found a flat’s door ajar. He fled with a laptop and Rs 50,000 in cash. However, his picture was captured in the CCTV camera.”
