Residents of the locality alleged the tank was in a dilapidated condition from the last few months. It had burst last month due to accumulation of gas, injuring one. It had been kept open since then. The locals also informed the BMC that the tank was in need of repairs, but claim their pleas fell on deaf ears.

The Goregaon police have registered an Accidental Death Report on the basis of primary information. Kevat’s body has been sent for post mortem at Sidhharth Hospital.
