A 26-year-old youth from Kandivli died on his way to work when his bike skidded and dashed into a divider on the Western Express Highway on Tuesday. The Samata Nagar police have registered an accidental death report in the matter. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Siddhesh Vengurlekar, a resident of Rashmi Avenue Thakur complex in Kandivli East. He was working as a senior account manager at a BPO in Powai. Siddhesh had suffered grievous injuries in the accident and was immediately rushed to Shatabdi Hospital by passers-by. However, he was declared dead on arrival.

Sources said that this was not the first time that such an accident had taken place at the spot, as the length of the divider is much less than what is required. Residents and the local cops have complained about it to the authorities concerned several times, but nothing has been done in this regard. Siddhesh is survived by his parents and younger brother Paresh.

A friend of Siddhesh said, "My brother works at the same company. They used to travel together daily, but today Siddhesh was alone." "After conducting a panchnama, we sent the body to Bhagwati Hospital for post-mortem. An accidental death report has been registered," said an officer from Samata Nagar police station.
