Sunita, with her husband Tanaji (35) and son Om (8), was coming to Bandra from Satara in a bus to appear for Maharashtra Judicial Services Exam, which was scheduled on Sunday at 10.30 am. “I had been preparing for the exam for the last two months. All three of us decided to go to Mumbai and come back the same day after my exam. But the accident has left my family in the hospital and I can’t even think of appearing for the exam,” said Sunita.

While talking about the accident, Sunita said they woke up after their bus had fallen down in a 25 feet ditch and people were screaming for help. “Since it was dark, my husband switched on the torch in his mobile phone and that’s when I saw that my son wasn’t beside me. We then found him lying under three people. My husband rescued him and later began helping other passengers. I have a fractured leg and my son too experienced stomach pain and has a fractured hand,” added the lawyer.

The family had planned to stay with Sujata Nimbalkar, Tanaji’s sister, who lives in Kandivli. “When there was no news of their arrival till 6am, I tried calling Sunita but her phone was not reachable. So then I called my brother and found that they had met with an accident and were rushed to MGM hospital.”
