A Sunday night drive ended up seriously injuring two on the Eastern Freeway as their car slammed headfirst into the divider. The impact was such that the divider sliced into the front portion of the bonnet and smashed half of the car.
The accident took place around 8.45 pm, as the Honda City was going towards Chembur. The driver lost control of the vehicle and ran into the divider. Once the police were notified, they informed the fire department, which sent three fire engines to the spot. Meanwhile, cops from the Sewri police station also arrived at the accident spot and rescued the duo trapped in the car — a male and a female. Both were seriously injured and were sent to JJ Hospital.
