If you do want to adopt a species of the four-legged kind, the Animal Adoption Crusaders (AAC) and World For All (WFA) are holding an initiative called Adopt-a-Pet 2015, which is an animal adoption drive in South Mumbai for the adoption of homeless puppies and kittens.

Adopt-a-Pet 2015 is a one-day adoption drive that will host 40 Indian breed puppies and kittens on Sunday, March 22 at Worli Seaface, from 8 am to 3 pm. The adoption is free. There is a whetting process for a to-be owner. The whetting interview assessing one’s suitability, is part of a system of checks and balances in the adoption process.
Organisers say the adoption drive is to encourage adoption and an option for those who do not want to pay the humungous sums that breeders charge these days. We say that is something that puts the wow into the bow and the meow.

Get wheel soon, a solution for all that pollution
Fuel: Are you going to save any for your children or will you drink it all up yourself ? That was the message that the Rotaract Club of HR College wanted to send and recently, switched from four wheels to two wheels.
The cycle rally saw youngsters with their foot on the cycle pedal instead of the gas pedal
They stated that people only talk, about fuel conservation. One needed to illustrate to the city that Mumbaikars can find alternate means of transport. The ‘Too Cool for Fuel’ initiative went from Girgaum Chowpatty to Nariman Point, on a Saturday.
Students wore t-shirts that said ‘You are following a Change Maker.’ There have been numerous initiatives, which have tried to promote cycling in the city. It would take a lot for that to happen given our traffic, roads and the need to get somewhere in a hurry.
Do not forget the weather too. One can take heart though from drives (yikes, misplaced word here) like no car days and ‘Too Cool for Fuel’ exercises to dream of a time when maybe, just maybe, cars could become the ‘alternate’ means of transport. Dreaming on in a fool’s paradise, or fuel’s paradise to be more precise, we think.
