Mulund East-based businessman Bizal Khan, 35, had only one stop to make on Monday, before he retired from work for the day. Around 6 pm, he reached his warehouse, situated within the premises of Nimkar Co-Operative Housing Society, Mulund Colony, to check on all the expensive telecom instrument and tools he stored in that godown. But, on reaching the warehouse, he found that its lock was broken. Following a police probe it was revealed that property worth over Rs 90,70,000 was stolen from the warehouse.

Speaking to mid-day, Khan said, "I immediately alerted my employees and opened the shutter to enter the warehouse. Everything inside the godown had been vandalised. Most machines were shattered and over 25 expensive telecom spare parts are still missing."

Khan informed the Mulund police, who immediately rushed to the spot to conduct a panchnama. An officer with the Mulund police said, "We called in finger print experts to collect samples. As per our calculations, instruments worth R90,70,412 have been stolen. We have recorded the statement of the complaining and filed an FIR against unidentified individuals in the case. The accused have been booked under IPC sections 454 (lurking, house-trespass or house-breaking in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment) and 380 (theft in dwelling house). We are in the process of collecting CCTV footage from nearby areas."

Cops confirmed that more than two people were involved in the burglary and vandalism.
