A 23-year old man landed in trouble after he forcibly kissed his former girlfriend and verbally abused her. The incident occurred on Tuesday, when the victim was enjoying a night out with group of friends in Bandra's Carter Road.

While the victim's friends managed to temporarily restrain the accused, officers from the Khar police, who were posted at their Carter road chowk, quikly rushed to the spot. According to a report in the Hindustan Times, Khar police have confirmed that the accused did not have any previous criminal history.

The HT report quotes a police officer from Khar police station as having stated, "The accused has been remanded in police custody for two days by a magistrate court. He does not have a criminal background. He has completed his studies, but is currently unemployed.”

While the woman and the accused were formerly in a relationship, they had broken up during the past year. Despite the separation, the 23-year-old had kept trying to contact her repeatedly on her cell phone and on social media.  An FIR has been filed by the victim under sections 354, 354 D, 506 and and 509 of the Indian Penal Code for sexual harrassment, stalking, criminal intimidation and other charges.
