The case
The survivor and Nadar are residents of Antop Hill and knew each other. The 17-year-old used to often visit her grandmother’s place at Reay Road and come home late in the evening. On September 8, 2013, she was returning from her grandmother’s place. When she reached GTB Nagar, she saw Nadar, who offered to drop her home on his bike.
There was already a girl riding pillion, and Nadar dropped her at Makawadi at Antop Hill, and left with the survivor. Police said that after going ahead, they came near a shanty and Nadar said he would introduce her to his wife there. Khan was already standing near the shanty by that time.
PSI Santosh Kamble, of Antop Hill police station, said, “Nadar took her into the shanty and raped her. Khan was standing outside and keeping watch to see that nobody came there. After that, Nadar dropped the survivor half-way to her house and left. The survivor went home and told her mother about the incident. They then came to the Antop Hill police station and registered the complaint.” The duo were arrested immediately thereafter.
