A 39-year-old man was arrested today for allegedly murdering his 32-year-old wife at their house in suburban Mulund, police said

A 39-year-old man was arrested today for allegedly murdering his 32-year-old wife at their house in suburban Mulund, police said.

The accused, identified as Lakhan Devkar allegedly attacked his wife Parvati last evening with a sharp knife-like object on her forehead, following which she was rushed to Mulund Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival, police said.


The accused is working as a security guard at a construction site of a builder.

According to police, the couple was not getting along well and used to fight constantly.

Police said Devkar confided in the builder after murdering his wife.

The murder weapon has not been recovered yet, said police.

Mulund police station senior inspector Rajaram Vhanmane said the accused has been arrested today and has beenbooked under section 302 (punishment for murder) of IPC.
