Mumbai crime branch has arrested two people for creating fake government documents. The accused have been identified as Sunil Chaudhari, 35, and his employee, Attaullah Malik, 25. According to crime branch officials, Chaudhari was running a shop for a year where he would print fake PAN cards, Aadhaar cards, smart card driving license, and even voter ids.
Once the officials got information about this shop from reliable sources, they raided the site on February 9 and found several fake documents. They found 71 PAN cards, four ready smartcard driving licenses, six voter ids, and 10 Aadhaar cards.
Besides these, they also found 234 blank smartcard driving licenses, 24 blank Aadhaar cards, four blank ATM cards and five Master and Visa cards. Police is now investigating to see if they are part of a skimmer gang that gets ATM card details from bank customers and withdraw money. Speaking to mid-day, Dilip Sawant, deputy commissioner, crime branch, said, "We have arrested the accused. We are investigating how many cards they have sold till now." The accused have been remanded in custody till February 15.
