Mumbai: Woman 'jumps' with three kids before train at Kandivli

35-year-old was found on the tracks near Poisar Bridge with her 9-month-old twins, all of whom died on the spot; 3-year-old son died later in hospital. The incident took place near Poisar Railway Bridge between Kandivli and Borivli railway stations

A woman allegedly jumped along with her three children in front of a local train on Sunday at Kandivli. The incident took place near Poisar Railway Bridge between Kandivli and Borivli railway stations.

The woman, around 35 years of age, and her 9-months-old twins (a girl and a boy) died on the spot, while her three-year-old son died at Shatabdi Hospital during treatment on Sunday morning.

Borivli RPF’s Senior Inspector RS Salaria said, “The incident took place around 1.30 am. A woman was knocked down by a Borivli local train. Her body was found lying near Poisar nullah bridge and the bodies of a male and a female baby aged around 9 months were also found lying there. Some distance away, a boy of around three years was found badly injured. The GRP took them to the Shatabdi hospital where doctors declared the woman and her twins dead before arrival. The boy, who was critical and was admitted in the ICU, was declared dead in the morning.”

The deceased and her children are yet to be identified. The Borivli GRP police have registered an ADR and are inquiring in this matter. “The bodies are yet to be identified. When the identities are found, the cause behind the extreme step will also be revealed,” said a police official from Borivli GRP.
