A 39- year-old private tuition coach arrested for calling students to his Parel home in the name of lectures only to sexually abuse them; video showing students in the nude has also been recovered from him

A private tutor (39) was arrested on Sunday for sexually abusing a group of 15-year-old students.
The police alleged that the accused called the teenagers to the class under the pretext of “ extra classes” during which he touched the boys inappropriately.

According to police officials, the accused is an MSc and has been taking classes of Std X students at his Parel residence.
Cops said that only one student has approached them with a complaint, but has named two others who were also allegedly abused by the teacher.
An officer from Bhoiwada police station said, “ As per the complainant, the tutor has been abusing students from June till September. He had been calling them on the pretext of taking extra lectures at night, during which he felt their body parts and even recorded a video of the minors, who can be seen in the nude.” The complainants claimed that he’d touch the students even during lectures.
Police said that after the main complainant suffered the abuse for the first time, he informed his father, who went to the police.
“ The complainant recently went through the trauma, and in order to avoid a repeat of the incident, he decided to inform his father. The father came to the police station, after which we registered the case and brought the tutor to the police station,” added the officer.
The cops have also recovered the video the accused recorded. “ After the nighttime lectures, the students slept in the class along with the accused. Taking advantage of the situation, the suspect sexually abused them. The footage recovered, though, does not show the act, only the recording of the unclothed Std X students,” said the officer.
Senior Inspector Sunil Tondwalkar from Bhoiwada police station said, “ We have arrested the accused and booked him under strong sections.
He was produced in Bhoiwada court and has been remanded in police custody till November 14, while we investigate the case thoroughly.” The accused has been charged under Section 377 ( unnatural sex) of the Indian Penal Code, along with sections 6, 10 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act ( POCSO).
