BJP MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha challenges Congress leader after latter accuses him of demolishing Ambedkar Bhawan
A week after the demolition of Ambedkar Bhawan in Dadar threw Babasaheb Ambedkar followers into a tizzy, Congress Mumbai president Sanjay Nirupam raked up another controversy when he alleged that Lodha Group, founded by BJP MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha, was responsible for the incident.

Nirupam, who visited the site on Saturday, said that Lodha builders were behind last week’s demolition. “It’s Lodha, who is behind all this…who else has the guts to demolish a building belonging to Babasaheb Ambedkar? This builder wants to redevelop the area and has been eyeing it for a long time,” said Nirupam.
According to Nirupam, the builder had also bribed some people, so that things went in his favour. However, he didn't divulge any further details.
Nirupam also said that if the motive behind the demolition was not wrong, why was it carried out in the early hours of the night.
Following the accusation, Lodha challenged Nirupam stating that if the Congress leader proved the allegation, he would quit politics. “But, if Nirupam cannot prove anything, he should also quit politics. It’s high time that Nirupam stops making such false allegations against people,” he said.
