Urvashi Thackeray was sitting behind her friend in a scooty when the vehicle skidded in Mahalaxmi area around 4.30 pm. The 19-year-old sustained a fracture on her knee when she fell from the two-wheeler.

“Both the driver and Urvashi were injured in the accident. She has been admitted to Hinduja Hospital and was operated on in the evening,” informed Sachin More from MNS. Raj Thackeray had started his Maharashtra tour on Friday, and was expected to visit the Kalyan-Dombivli area over the next three days, which he postponed after hearing about the accident.

Raj Thackeray’s cousin, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and his wife Rashmi also visited the hospital to meet Urvashi around 9 pm for half an hour. Dr Sanjay Agrawal from Mahim Hospital, who is treating Urvashi, said, “She sustained a few injuries but is stable and recovering well.”
