Mumbai: On duty cop collapses at Uddhav Thackeray's home 'Matoshree'

Posted in the security of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s residence Matoshree, an on-duty assistant sub-inspector of the Mumbai police mysteriously fainted on Sunday night and was rushed to the hospital.

The cop, ASI Kundalik Shripati Godhe, had been posted at Matoshree’s security since the past one year. He was rushed to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra (W) and was later shifted to the Guru Nanak Hospital in Kala Nagar.

Godhe is attached to the Vakola police station and was on duty when he fainted at gate number two of the Sena chief’s residence at 10pm. The Kherwadi police was immediately informed about the incident and he was rushed to the hospital in a police mobile van.

“The family of the police officer was informed after he was taken to the hospital. His family members then consulted their personal doctor, who then suggested that he be shifted to Guru Nanak Hospital. We are not aware about the exact reason of his collapse,” said a police officer from Kherwadi police station.

Incidentally, Godhe was on duty since 9 am on the same day. By evening, he was running a temperature. He fainted soon after.

The doctors at Guru Nanak Hospital have kept Godhe under observation to ascertain why he fainted.

Following the incident, the Vakola police deputed another official at the spot. “The Matoshree security office informed us about ASI Godhe and asked us to send another official. Since it’s a sensitive spot, a police official was sent immediately,” said a cop from Vakola police station.
