A man sustained 80 per cent burn injuries, after he climbed onto a railway pole and tried to balance on the pantograph cables at Mira Road railway station. He was electrocuted, while attempting the stunt, following which he fell off the cable. The man was immediately rushed to the hospital, and he is said to be critical.

According to the Railway Police Force (RPF) officials, the man climbed up the railway pole, despite people asking him to stop.
The official further claimed that the man suffered from a mental condition, and hence, remained defiant.
When he climbed up, he stood at the top of the pole for sometime, and then in an attempt to balance on the pantograph cable, touched the wire, suffering high voltage electric shocks. Passers by could see sparks and fire flames. Minutes later, the charred man, fell down.
RPF personnel rushed him to Kandivli's Shatabdi Hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit. Mahesh Bagwe, senior inspector of the Vasai Government Railway Police (GRP) said, “The man has not been identified yet and seemed mentally unstable. We are inquiring with people living around the Mira Road station.”
