Police said the father stumbled upon an audio recording of a call in his daughter's phone where she pleaded with the teacher to delete intimate pictures of her that were in the latter's possession
The family of a 17-year-old girl were shocked when they found the girl’s body hanging from the ceiling of their house on Saturday. Unable to comprehend why the girl took the extreme step, her father decided to check her cellphone for clues. He discovered an audio recording of a call made by his daughter to her teacher at the computer class that she had been attending for the last six months.

Police said he could her hear his 17-year-old daughter pleading with the teacher to delete intimate pictures of her that were in the latter’s possession. However, the teacher refused to comply and the girl, under duress, committed suicide.
Muskan, the Std XII student, had been attending a computer class where she met the accused Shambu Muddesiya (22) and the duo became close friends. The girl had sent him some intimate pictures. After listening to the recording, her father Sarfuddin Sheikh rushed to Shambu’s computer class, and dragged him to the police station. Sheikh then explained everything to the police and finally a complaint against Muddesiya was filed under IPC section 305 (Abetment of suicide).
“Shambu was produced before the Magistrate court after which he was sent to police custody till August 8,” said Vyankat Patil, senior PI, Ghatkopar police station.
