According to police, the deceased, Naazish Ali, was a resident of the New Collector Compound in Malwani. On Saturday, his family members had given the police a letter saying he was missing. On Sunday, when they arrived to file an FIR, they came to know that his body had been recovered at Dana-Pani beach.

The body was discovered by a passer-by, who alerted the cops, who then called his family members to identify it.

According to the Malwani police, Naazish took drugs (he used the thinner mixed in colour for dilution), due to which his family members were worried. They had stopped him from going to school as he would spend time with other drug addicts. His father Liyakat, had told him not to associate with the boys who did drugs, but he did not take heed.

Naazish’s elder brother Shoeb said, “He was a Std IX student. Fed up with his daily drugs habit, I found a job for him, near our house in an imitation jewellery unit. He used to work there. On Friday, he told our mother that he was going for work but he did not reach there.”

An official from the Malwani police station said, “On the basis of primary information, we have registered an Accidental Death Report, but we have to find out if he has committed suicide or he drowned in the sea.”
