The newly recruited staff of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Western Railway (WR) knows more than how to safeguard passengers and railway premises. The 27 RPF constables will make use of their experience of cooking, sweeping, gardening, etc.

The Western Railway added 27 constables to their staff last week and were been included in the force from April 1.

A senior RPF official from WR said, “The new recruits have cleared their exams. They will be working under different divisions of the RPF, and we will also use their expertise in fields other than security.”
While the new recruits will join RPF as low-level employees, based on their performance they will get the opportunity to join the main force.

“Their families are not aware that they will work as cook or cobbler in the RPF staff. However, based on their performance and hard work, they will get the opportunity to move up in the force,” added the official.
Rajendra Rupnawar, senior divisional security commissioner of RPF, Western Railway, said, “The new recruits have completed their training period of one year and will join as constables.”
