Mumbai Cargo Customs officials recover 4kg amphetamine with an estimated market value of Rs 40.7 lakh, concealed within 25 cycle seats; consignment is believed to be headed for London, from Andheri firm
The Special Investigation and Intelligence Branch (SIIB) Officers of the Mumbai Cargo Customs believe that smugglers are now using a safer route to sneak in drugs into Mumbai.

The amphetamine that was hidden in the cycle seats
On Friday night, the team, on specific information, went to the Koldongri, Andheri East office of M/S Total Courier and Cargo Services Pvt. Limited.
Examination of a consignment resulted in the recovery of 4.070 kg of white crystalline powder, purported to be amphetamine with an estimated market value of Rs 40.7 lakh, concealed inside 25 cycle seats.
The officers arrested the manager of the firm, Edward Rodrigues. Officers said that the proprietor is on the run. It is suspected that the consignment was to be smuggled to London.
“We are of the view that the courier company may be involved,” said a Customs official.
