The victim’s friend Kamlesh had referred Singh, a resident of Colaba. While Singh was employed with the couple, he would often land up at their house without reason. He would look for excuses to get close to the victim but she tolerated it. However, one day he hugged her and also used obscene language. She complained to her husband and Singh was fired.
The victim added that despite being fired from the job, Singh was often seen loitering near her house. On Wednesday night, the woman along with two of her friends went to meet Kamlesh at his house. As Kamlesh was not present at home, the victim began chatting with his son, while her friends decided to wait outside the chawl.
While she was leaving, she said Singh met her at the stairs and said, “Oh meri jaan, tereko kabse dhoond raha hoon, aa mere paas aa. (Darling, I have been looking for you for so long, come closer).” After this, she claimed, Singh hugged and kissed her and unzipped his trousers.

While arguing for his client’s judicial custody, Singh’s advocate Sunil Pandey said that Singh was being falsely implicated in the case. He added that in fact, he (Singh) was beaten up as he asked for his salary, which was not paid to him.
