The accused has been identified as Mohit Tiwari, resident of Shivaji Nagar, Borivli (west). According to sources from Kasturba Marg police station, Tiwari escaped with valuable courier packages which had mobile phones, accessories and electronic instruments, while he was going to deliver them on November 27.

“He delivered six to seven items in Mira Road and parked his vehicle later in the parking lot of Mira Road railway station and went absconding with all the other valuables,” said a senior police official. According to the police, Tiwari must have had at least Rs 70,000 in cash with him for the deliveries he carried out in Mira Road.
When Tiwari did not reach office after the deliveries, his seniors from the courier company tried to call him, but could not get through. The company came to know that Tiwari’s vehicle was parked in the parking lot of Mira Road station, said a worker of the company who did not wish to be named.
The courier company registered a complaint on Sunday in the Kasturba Marg police station. In their statement to the police, Blue Dart has said that Tiwari had been working with their company since the last three months. He went on a month’s leave to visit his native place, Jaunpur in UP. Tiwari resumed duty on November 26 and went for deliveries the next day, when he disappeared.
The police have registered a case under section 408 (Criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant) of the IPC against Tiwari.
