According to Juhu police officials, Guddu Ansari, belonging to Uttar Pradesh, wanted to marry the film producer’s daughter to gain a foothold in the industry.

Jab they met
According to police sources, Guddu met the woman at an audition, where she was assisting her father’s production unit. On learning who she was, Guddu procured the woman’s contact details and started sending lewd messages to her from different phone numbers.

“He sent obscene messages to the woman and demanded that she marry him. He smartly kept changing numbers. So, he couldn’t be traced. He also called from local Mumbai landline numbers. Since the woman was unwilling to change her phone number, she became an easy target for Guddu, who called her every day, asking her out on dates,” said a Juhu police official.

Last act
Three days ago, the woman received calls from a new set of numbers and she immediately shared them with cops.

With some help from the telecom service provider, police managed to nab the man under whose name the SIM card had been registered.

“This man said he had purchased the SIM card for his friend, Guddu Ansari. We laid a trap and nabbed Guddu, who denied the crime initially, but finally confessed to having harassed the woman,” a police source said.

“We produced Guddu in court yesterday, where he was denied bail. He has been charged under Section 354D of the IPC for stalking and, consequently, remanded in judicial custody,” said Satyanarayan Chaudhary, DCP (Zone 9).
