Mumbai: Cancer patient dies after falling from sixth floor at Andheri hospital

A 63-year-old man died after falling from the sixth floor of the Andheri-based BSES Hospital (Brahmakumari) on Saturday morning. The police said the deceased suffered from oral cancer since a year and suspect that he committed suicide.

The deceased, Navin Dayalji Joisor, was a resident of Ghatkopar. On December 22, 2014, he underwent a surgery at the BSES Hospital.

“On Saturday, at 8.45 am, the hospital staff found that somebody had fallen from the window from the sixth floor. They checked on the deceased and found it was Joisor, who had died on the spot,” said a police official.

The official added that Joisor had undergone a surgery last year, too, after his diagnosis. After the recent surgery, he was recuperating well and the hospital staff planned to discharge him this week.

Andheri’s DN Nagar police station registered an accidental death report in the case.
