According to RPF officials from WR, every year drives are conducted for crimes under Railway Act like trespassing, hawking, unauthorised travelling in compartments for the handicapped, men getting into the ladies compartments etc.

“We have been conducting drives against the criminals under sections of trespassing, nuisance etc of the Railway Act and this year we found that Andheri is number one, when counting the number of offenders,” said an official from RPF, WR.

Thousands of offenders are caught under the Railway Act by the police everyday. Moreover, the number of cases has also increased in the year 2015, as compared to the year 2014, and so has the amount of fine collected from the offenders.

Anand Vijay Jha, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF, WR, said, “The number of commuters traffic is more at Andheri station. Also the planning and strategy also plays an important role in any drive’s success.”
