However, the cops are yet to learn more, as all three are currently in the ICU, after being admitted at Jupiter Hospital. At the time this paper went to print, the police had decided to hold off from registering a case until they could record the statements of the 34-year-old woman and her son (3) and daughter (4).

The husband has not filed a complaint so far. Around 7.30 pm last evening, Shalaka Paranjpe, a resident of Bhaskar Colony, Naupada, and her children were rushed to Godbole Hospital, which informed the police immediately. However, the family was then shifted to Jupiter Hospital once their status became critical.

R Hadpe, the investigating officer form Naupada police station, said, “All the three patients are being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital and are unavailable to provide an account of the incident. However, we have spoken with the husband and he has registered no complaint in the matter. We will have more information once we speak with Shalaka, after she is declared stable by the hospital.”
