Mumbai: Ad firm owner jumps to death in Andheri

A 34-year-old man committed suicide yesterday by jumping off the 15th floor of a high-rise at Sahkar Nagar in Andheri (W). The deceased was identified as Amit Subhash Kidwani. He was the owner of Millennium Iball Advertising firm in Andheri and a resident of Sahkar Nagar.

Officials from the Amboli police station said that Kidwani was a bachelor and stayed alone, while his parents and sibling resided in Udaipur in Rajasthan. Cops said they received a call from the building residents around 8.30 am, stating that Kidwani’s body was lying in their compound premises.

The police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to the Cooper Hospital. They recovered a suicide note from his house. API Sujit Kumar Gunjkar said, “In the suicide note, Kidwani apologised to his parents and brother, and said that he loved them a lot.”

The police suspect that Kidwani must have slipped into depression after suffering losses in his business, which propelled him to take the drastic step. They are now in the process of recording the statements of Kidwani’s business associates to ascertain the reason behind his suicide. “We have lodged an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in this case. Further investigation is on,” said Gunjkar.
