When he didn’t return home after a while, his worried mother began searching for him but couldn’t find him anywhere. The neighbours too joined in the hunt for him. A resident of the area spotted the boy’s floating body and rushed him to a nearby hospital.
He was declared dead before admission. At the family’s behest, the police have not yet conducted the post-mortem of the boy’s body, which is necessary after registering an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and the cause of death is still unknown.
A police official from Samta Nagar Police Station said, “No one saw Adarsh falling into the nullah, but when he was found missing amid the group of children playing in the area, residents began looking for him. We have registered a case and the matter is under investigation.”
