Malegaon blast case: Compensate youth with Rs 1 crore

After being discharged from the 2006 Malegaon blast case after 10 years, eight locals along with All India Majlis-e-ittehadu-ul-muslimeen (AIMIM) have appealed to Maharas-htra CM, Devendra Fadnavis demanding a compensation of Rs 1 crore, along with rehabilitation and a character certificate. They have also demanded action against the then Anti Terrorism Squad chief K P Raghuw-anshi and other police officers who were involved in the arrest.

On April 25, the NIA informed the court that it did not have any evidence to link the accused to the blasts case, following which the MCOCA court discharged eight locals in the case.

In her appeal, Anjum Inamdar, president of AIMIM said, “The boys have undergone immense trauma, and must be given a character certificate along with rehab, government job and compensation of Rs 1 crore.”

When contacted, Raghuwanshi refused to comment.
