This is the second time the cash-strapped infrastructure body has extended the dates to appoint a consultant who would suggest initiatives and help it generate revenue
The cash-strapped Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) continues to be in doldrums. Despite the infrastructure body inviting tenders in September 2014 to appoint a consultant to suggest initiatives that could help the body generate revenue, it seems no consultant is interested in assisting the MSRDC. The tenders for the appointment of a consultant for ‘Designing and planning of business enhancement initiatives and supporting their implementation’ has not received a good response. This has prompted the MSRDC to extend the dates for downloading and submitting the tender forms.

A MSRDC official told sunday mid-day on condition of anonymity, “The response from the bidders hasn’t been satisfactory. So we have decided to extend the tender download period up to 3 pm on January 24, 2015.” The last date of submission has been rescheduled to January 31. The original date for the tender download and submission was in December, 2014.
The date of opening of the technical bid has also been extended from the last week of December 2014 to 5.30 pm, February 10, 2015. The date of opening of price bids has been rescheduled, too, from December 2014 to 5.30 pm, February 16, 2015.
This isn’t the first time the body has extended the submission dates of the tender forms. Earlier, the tenders were supposed to be downloaded by October 2014 and submitted by November 2014. But even then, MSRDC hadn’t got the expected response and was compelled to extend the dates to December 2014.
