got into a debate over Mahatma Gandhi and the elections with tutor Savio DSilva, who runs a public speaking class in Andheri, Prabhu was shown the door.
The debates
Said Prabhu, "On the first day, DSilva went on a rant against Gandhiji."
According to her, DSilva told the class of 14 young, impressionable students, "Why do we need a Father of the Nation? Don't we have a father at home? Why do we need another father? Kisne banaya usko father?"
However, DSilva denied these allegations. He said, "I just repeated a quote from the book Gandhi's Prisoner, which is banned in India, that Gandhi wasn't a good father."
According to Prabhu, on the second day, DSilva told his students not to vote in the upcoming elections and on the third day they got into an argument about compensation given to the tsunami victims. "DSilva suddenly started shouting at me and asked me to leave the class," said Prabhu.
Counter claims
DSilva said Prabu debated on issues that were pointless. "When things got out of proportion, I told her to leave my class. I have 14 students who will tell you what happened," he said.u00a0
He added, "Prabhu claimed that Mohenjodaro and Harrappa were in India, though everybody knows they are in Pakistan. She kept debating on the subject."
