It seems that the building that comedian Kapil Sharma's flat is located has found itself in legal trouble. According to a report by the Mumbai Mirror, a legal notice has been sent by residents of the neighbouring building located in the posh Lokhandwala neighbourhood alleging that the whole project is illegal.

This accusation follows the allegations of illegal extensions at Kapil Sharma's Oshiwara flat, which were recently put to rest after he was given some relief by Bombay HC which, stayed BMC's notice for alleged illegal construction in his flat.

According to the notice sent to the housing society of DLH Enclave by the Windermere society in Oshiwara, the building stands on a plot allotted for a BMC hospital or dispensary.

Among other allegations, the notice states that the carpet area of each flat was 1,315 sq ft, which was increased to 2,550 sq ft in the sale plan. Furthermore, a smaller plot was approved by Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), as per which the builder was allowed to build up to 18 storeys at a higher floor space index, which has apparently caused ventilation problems as the tower is really close to the adjacent building.

Kapil Sharma had alleged last month that the BMC official demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh, which turned out to be his undoing as the civic body soon found that he had flouted several norms not only in his apartment but also in his Versova office building.
