A 14-year-old girl from suburban Kandivali allegedly committed suicide after she was harassed by a boy living in her neighbourhood, police said today.
According to police, the girl's parents found her hanging with the ceiling fan in her bedroom at around 6 PM on Tuesday at their residence in Iraniwadi, Kandivali.

The 16-year-old boy, whose name has not been disclosed as he is a minor, was on Wednesday taken into custody under section 305 (abetment of suicide of child or insane person) of IPC, police said.
The boy forcibly kept on talking to her even after she tried to avoid any interaction with him, causing her stress, her father alleged. He also claimed that his daughter had been harassed by the boy on a number of occasions, prompting her to end life.
"Following the allegations that the teenager had troubled the girl in the past, we have taken him into custody on the charge of abetment of suicide. Further probe is on," Deputy Police Commissioner Mahesh Patil said.u00a0
