In her statement to the police, the girl, who was allegedly raped by Dr Rahul Deshwal, claimed she was forced to take emergency contraceptive pills.

She said, "I have been staying at the Sir JJ Hospital hostel since 2006 and will finish my MBBS in two years. Students were sent for lectures to operation theatres at JJ, St George and Cama hospitals.

In 2008, I had a 25-day training at the St George hospital OPD.

We then went out for tea and began to get to know each other. I wanted some textbooks and asked him if he had them.

On August 22, 2008, he told me to come to his hostel, room number 40, on the second floor of St George hospital between 6 and 7 pm.

I went there and found Rahul alone. He offered some juice. There was something in it because it made me feel sleepy.

When I woke up, I saw that my clothes were lying on the bed and I had nothing on. I was still feeling sleepy when Rahul raped me.

When I became fully conscious, I saw him taking my nude photos.

He told me, 'Hee baat faar mothi nahin. Tu mala aavadtes aani mee tujhyashi lagna karin. (This is not a big issue, I love you and will marry you).'

When I protested, he threatened me, 'If you speak about this [rape] to anyone, I will show your pictures to your family, friends and tarnish your image'.

From September to March 2009, he had a physical relationship with me and used to threaten me.

He used to beat me to have sex with him and forced me to have emergency contraceptive pills. He had promised to marry me, but got engaged with another girl and cheated me."

The police have in their possession Deshpal's blue belt, four white handkerchiefs with dark spots on them.

They have also taken his laptop, N-73 mobile and a black pen drive to find the photos of the victim taken by the accused.

They have taken the following and sent it for the test and check to get evidence against the accused.

Accused claims he is Innocent

Advocate Sartaj Sheikh, who is representing the accused said, "My client has told me he is innocent.

The incident that the girl is talking about is from 2008. She is an educated person; why didn't she report it at the time?"u00a0
