The daughter, Jenifer Rizvi, was admitted to hospital in the morning and her father, Iqbal, was under a lot of stress. The family is in a state of extreme shock and has not informed the daughter about his demise yet. On August 2, mid-day had reported how Jenifer was sent back to Mumbai to her father’s place after seven years of marriage.

Her in-laws and husband, a businessman in Kanpur, had allegedly harassed her, first for money, and then for giving birth to two girls. In June, when she was diagnosed with cancer, her husband brought her and the girls back to Mumbai and left her.

Speaking to mid-day, Iqbal had said, “I will fight for my daughter till the very end. She is a fighter and we will do everything for her treatment and see to it that her in-laws and husband are brought to justice.”

On Tuesday, Jenifer was admitted to the Tata Memorial Hospital as her condition was deteriorating. Her brother, Parvez, said, “After admitting her, father was discussing about Jenifer and while speaking, he looked depressed and tensed. While talking, he suddenly had a heart attack and fell in my arms.

My brothers and I rushed him to the hospital, but he died before we reached the facility.” “We have not informed Jenifer about father yet, as it can make her condition worse. We don’t know when to inform her,” added a grieving Parvez.
