Driver runs over driver in Oshiwara, cops hint at accident

Driver runs over driver in Oshiwara, cops hint at accident

A private car driver ran over the driver of another car near Oshiwara’s celebrity hotbed Samarth Society last evening.


Although police officials refused to confirm it, but sources said, both the drivers were hired from the same agency and this could possibly be a case of murder.


The incident took place at 6 pm yesterday.


Police says
Police inspector Shivkumar Gaekwad said, “As per primary investigations and information we have gathered from Society members, it seems like an accident. If it was intentional or not has to be deciphered.”

The accused, Hari Mohan Jha, has been booked under Section 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code for causing death by negligence.

The victim, Ranjeet Kumar Jha (25), was immediately rushed to Cooper Hospital, but he was declared dead at around 6.50 pm.

Inspector Gaekwad said medical tests have been conducted on Hari Mohan and he has been remanded in police custody for further investigations.
