Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday attacked the opposition parties, saying that they held their 'Save the Constitution' or 'Samvidhan Bachao' rally here only because they were not in power. 'The Constitution is intact. What they (Congress) held today was a 'Save Party' rally and not 'Save Constitution' rally. When Congress-NCP were in power, they indulged in rampant corruption and didn't remember the Constitution then', Fadnavis said while addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Tiranga Ekta Yatra' at the Kamgar Maidan.
'The Constitution is our mother', he said amid applause. The Fadnavis-led 'Tiranga Ekta Yatra' started from Chaityabhoomi in Shivaji Park to the Kamgar stadium at Elphinstone Road earlier today. It was organised with a purpose of honouring the Constitution and the tricolour.
