A BUDDING love triangle resulted in a fistfight between two groups of students at the Khalsa College in Matunga on Monday.
According to students, two boys who liked the same girl had an argument over her that escalated into a fistfight.
Seeing their friends getting beaten up, several students joined in on each side, resulting in a group fight that ended in many bruises and a non-cognisable complaint being filed at the Matunga police station.
"Two students from the college fell for the same girl and were each unhappy at the other's attempts to get close to her.
One of the students approached the other just to talk to him but it led to an argument and then a fistfight.
The friends of both the boys got involved later. No one was badly injured but some had bruises at the end of it."
Ajit Singh, the college's principal, said, "It was a minor fight. Such things happen in every college and it is nothing to be seriously worried about."
The official from the Matunga police confirmed that a complaint was filed by one of the students.
