Rs 25,000 and more -- these reported ticket prices of a gig by international band Coldplay in Mumbai in November, have sent the band's Indian fans in a tizzy, but not in a good way.

According to a mid-day report, Coldplay is set to perform in Mumbai on November 19 at the MMRDA and the show is being put together by the Global Citizen Festival run by Chris Martin. The report also stated that the official tickets will go live on Book My Show on September 12 next week and prices start from Rs 25,000 to the highest category tickets at Rs 5 lakh a ticket.

The event is a charitable one and the intention behind the concert is to support a noble cause, of removing extreme poverty from the entire world by 2030. The event will also feature Jay Z, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, AR ÂÂÂÂu00c2u0088Rahman, Deepika Padukone and PM Narendra Modi and CM Devendra Fadnavis.

The news created ripple among music-lovers across India with social media world buzzing with reactions. Mostly, though it was a scream of anguish at the tickets being overpriced and leving the 'true' fans in the lurch.

Fans said they were 'Coldplayed'. Some even took potshots at the exorbitant prices by wondering if the band was  "eradicating poverty or creating it?"

There were more.
