Members of Govinda pathaks on Tuesday met MNS Chief Raj Thackeray to discuss the issue regarding the celebration of Dahi Handi. Thackeray told the representatives of Govinda mandals that they should celebrate the festival in the traditional way and by following all the safety measures.

Speaking to mid-day, MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar said, “The representatives of the Dahi Handi pathaks met our leader on Tuesday and he has told them that Dahi Handi should be celebrated in a traditional manner, without loud noise and DJs.”
“He also told them that safety should be considered a priority, and the mandals should inform the organisers to make sure that proper safety arrangements are there at the venue where the handi is organised, including ambulance, doctors, foam mattresses, etc.,” he added.
