Dharmik Shah jumped from the terrace of his building after coming back from school. The incident took place in Mahavirnagar area in Kandivli at about 2.45 pm yesterday.

The CCTV footage of the staircase showed Dharmik kissing the floor thrice before opening the terrace door. His schoolbag was found on the terrace but no suicide note. Today the cops will visit his school, Ajmera Global School in Borivli, to find if the boy was being harassed by someone.

Preliminary investigation revealed that after returning from school, Dharmik prepared his tuition bag and told his mother that he was going for his classes. But instead of going there, he went to the building’s watchman and asked him for the keys to the terrace saying his mother wants to use it to dry clothes. After getting the keys, he went up and jumped.

According to police sources, a person on the road had seen the boy when he was about to jump and asked him not to. He rushed to rescue him but it was too late by then.

"We have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and have sent the body to Bhagwati Hospital for post-mortem,” said senior police inspector Mukund Pawar of Kandivli police station.
