Such tip-offs can be submitted through email or through phone call to a toll-free number and information will be kept anonymous and confidential, BSE said.
Creating a special section on its website for the purpose, BSE wants investors and general public to approach the bourse "for any concern related to market manipulation, market abuse, market irregularity, suspicious trading, insider, fraud, violation, rigging etc".
Earlier, in December 2014, the National Stock Exchange (NSE), another major national bourse, had also launched a similar initiative to get tip offs on rogue elements in the stock markets.
After receiving the tip-off, the market surveillance departments of the exchanges would look into the information and take it to its logical conclusion.
